Who Are We? (Me.)

Hi! I’m Nancy — a self-proclaimed bad-ass barista and the owner of Morning Wood Brew Coffee House in American Falls, Idaho.

Did you just giggle? Good. That means you’re paying attention.

Owner. Barista. Builder. Community-maker.

I’ve always had a sense of humor and a very serious passion for coffee beans. Years ago, I had a simple idea: someday I’d walk away from my so-called “normal” life and open a little coffee house where I could drink good coffee, shoot the breeze, and connect with people. After years of feeling unsatisfied and asking myself “if not now, then when?” I finally decided to stop waiting and take charge of my own happiness.

Morning Wood Brew began its life in late 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. The building? A seriously run-down 1940s cinder block structure sitting on the edge of town, empty for over a decade and begging for a second chance. Nearly 4,000 square feet of “what did I get myself into?”.

In October 2021, Morning Wood Brew officially opened with a simple goal: create a place where locals could hang out, share stories, catch up with friends, and feel at home. What started as a cozy vision quickly grew into something more — a space people kept coming back to because it felt real..

As the business evolved, so did the menu and the space itself. Inspired by creativity, customer feedback, and a love for flavor, Morning Wood Brew expanded far beyond a basic coffeehouse lineup — offering a wide variety of drinks designed to meet just about any taste or craving. Along the way, we added a drive-thru and covered outdoor seating to better serve our community.

With a background in construction (and a whole lot of determination), I rolled up my sleeves and took the building down to its bones. The remodel sparked curiosity fast — people stopped by daily, shared stories about the building’s past, and watched it slowly come back to life. Somewhere between demo dust and drywall, I discovered strengths I didn’t even know I had… and learned that I’m capable of far more than I ever gave myself credit for.

Today, Morning Wood Brew is proudly woman-owned and operated — built on independence, grit, and the belief that good coffee can make even hard days better. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take what we do seriously enough to do it right.

So whether you’re grabbing a quick fix through the drive-thru or lingering a little longer inside, you’re always welcome here..
